The 2026 Samaritan Press calendar depicts Orphic deity Ananke, the mother of Fate. Ananke emerged self-formed at the dawn of creation, an incorporeal, serpentine being whose outstretched arms embraced the expanse of the cosmos.
Ananke and Chronos were consorts, interwoven in serpent form as a yoke around the universe. Together they crushed the egg of creation to bring order to the cosmos and then encircled the universe to direct the passage of the heavens and the forward motion of time.

Ex Libris (from the library of…) is a tradition of pasting a beautifully printed piece onto the endpaper or inside cover of a treasured book. Write your name in the blank space.
As a book collector I love finding a turn-of-the-century Ex Libris in a great book, the trace of a fellow seeker who once enjoyed and acknowledged that its energy and beauty may live on beyond this life.
